Henry Fung

Research Scientist

In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano—particularly the works of Erik Satie and Philip Glass. I also like to spend my weekends working on my Raspberry Pi robot buggy or reading science fiction books.

As a research scientist at Surgo, Henry applies machine learning approaches to global development and public health challenges. He is particularly interested in empirical evaluations of human health and well being, and the potential of that data for developing economic and social policies.

Henry has a M.A. in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from McGill University as well as degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering from Carleton University.
